Cookie + Kate is a vegetarian whole foods cooking blog, where Kate does the cooking, and Cookie, her pup, is her sweet companion.  Kate cooks delicious vegetarian options such as Kale and Black Bean Burritos (pictured left), and tasty treats such as the dairy-free Peach Raspberry Sorbet.  Kate even has a section of gluten-free recipes and vegan recipes!

Not Without Salt

Not Without Salt is an incredible food blog run by an ex Beverly Hills pastry chef turned wife and mother of 3.  Her blog features decadent, yet simple meals for her family.  My favourite part of her blog is her “Dating My Husband” posts, where she creates affordable in-home dates for her and her partner when leaving the house is not an option.  You won’t necessarily find gluten-free or vegan on this blog, but this post with a pear and fennel salad (pictured left), pork tenderloin, gorgonzola polenta, and roasted grapes sounds delicious.

My New Roots

My New Roots , a blog run by holistic nutritionist and vegetarian chef, Sarah Britton, is a delectable resource for raw, vegetarian, vegan, and GF/CF (gluten-free/casein-free) recipes.   These recipes, combined with Sarah’s mouth-watering photography, will turn anyone to try vegetarian cuisine!  While her blog features both sweet and savory, appetizers, deserts and entrees, my favourite is the Raw Cashew Dreamcake (pictured left) which is not only gorgeous, but also vegan, gluten-free, and raw.

Sprouted Kitchen

Sprouted Kitchen is a whole foods blog run by the lovely Sara and her partner and talented photographer, Hugh.  This blog features “a tastier take on whole foods”, where Sara combines your favourite recipes with a new twist such as alternative flours and dairy free options.  Her Lemon Pancakes + Yogurt and Berries (pictured left), are made with almond meal, quinoa flour and oat flour.  This recipe for Roasted Strawberry Coconut Milk Ice Cream is for gourmet dairy-free ice cream where she uses coconut milk as an alternative to cream.
